It's not Christmas until Aunt Pat sends her ornaments! As long as I can remember, every year at this time she sends out an ornament and Christmas letter. She is the reason I do my letters and I think that's where I get my craftiness from! So, now that I have a family of my own, we have a tree full of ornaments from Aunt Pat and it just makes this time of year that much more special! One of these days I'll find her time and energy to send out homemade gifts as well. Until then, enjoy our Christmas letters and pictures:) Merry Christmas and thank you Aunt Pat for inspiring me!

Peas and Christmas
Adam's first veggies- we chose peas because Matthew's dad hates them and I wanted to make sure to send him pictures! Adam loved them from first bite. We figure he'll eat anything as long as he's being fed :) We took a few pictures of him in his little cowboy outfit in front of Grandma and Papa Bailey's tree. It was hard to get pictures of him looking at the camera- all he wanted to do was look at the lights. Plus- they have the bubble lights- all the more interesting for the little ones. It's very sweet to see the boys getting so exited for Christmas. Children always remind you of how magical this timeof year can be.
Dad has a gimpy buck with one formed antler- he was standing on my parents front porch and surprised my dad as we were walking out. Guess he was going to knock on the door and ask for his dinner (yep- he makes sure all of his "dogs" are fed!)

Time To Update!
I know I know- It's been a while. I have been pretty busy with the boys and my new job. I never thought I'd be this happy working full time and not being a stay at home mom. I miss the boys, but the time we do have is all the more special. I'm happy knowing they are being well taken care of with my mom and dad- they always worked and we were in daycare since babies. This is their "do-over". It's funny- my dad is the 3rd mom- he tells Matthew and I what we need to do for Adam when we pick up the boys- it's very sweet. My job is amazing. Working at the Air Force Academy is awesome. The drive is gorgeous and the people are great. I feel very lucky to be there. Adam is getting so big! He's sitting up and eating cereal. He'll start veggies this week. Landon just loves being a big brother. He makes sure Adam has enough to play with by dumping all of his toys on him (gently for the most part!) I'm sure looking forward to this Christmas. I've done most of my shopping, had our pictures taken and this weekend we cut down our tree. I'll soon be starting our Christmas letter and mailing them out. The boys and I will decorate the house and make yummy treats. Adam loves anything with paper so it will be neat to see him tear open the Christmas presents! I'll post our pictures of cutting down the Wolfe Christmas tree this weekend and anything else exiting that happens. Here's a few pics in the meantime from the past couple of months

Picture Perfect

My favorite picture.... My brother is such an important person in my life and I was so thrilled when he said he was coming to meet his newest nephew. He was in the delivery room when Landon was born and I was so grateful he was there. It was such an amazing time to have my husband and family there with me- brings me to tears just remembering that moment. Kris arrived earlier this week and the boys and I headed over to mom's house. I was so happy she had her camera in her hand to capture this picture. It could not have been staged or re-created, it was such a sweet moment of me showing Kris his baby nephew. The smile on our faces is priceless- Adam's smile stretched further than his face. He seemed to know that this was "his" Uncle and they would be bonded for life. It was such a great week- took a lot of pictures with the family and of Kris and Landon playing hard and then Kris and Adam sleeping peacefully. Thank you Kris for being here and making another moment in the lives of our family so special. We love you and your nephews just adore you!

Fall Is On It's Way!
Landon, Adam, and I were driving home the other day and as we pulled into the driveway we saw a plant in the mix of the pine trees with red, orange and yellow leaves. Holy Cow! How is fall here already? The native Coloradans tell me that fall begins on Labor Day here. I'm still figuring out this weather. I'm still adjusting to seasons! But fall is my favorite- the colors are so beautiful. I love the feel of a sunny day with a crisp breeze that smells so good. I'm looking forward to going to the pumpkin patch with my boys and decorating the house and baking some yummy treats. Landon wants to be 'Thomas' for Halloween this year (surprise! surprise!) And Adam will be a monkey (if we can squeeze his big buns in Landon's first Halloween costume!) So- I look forward to more beautiful pictures of the ever changing foliage and the deer getting their winter coats. We need to start pulling out our winter-wear too!

Matthew's 35th Birthday Week
My husband has turned 35! It's a pretty big year. We have sure been through a lot these past 5 years together. I can't say enough about Matthew. He is an amazing man. He is beyond brilliant...he can fix anything (usually involves cardboard and duck tape- and it lasts forever:) )
He is a wonderful father~ his boys just adore him~so does mommy. He's a typical guy- worries about providing for the family and wants to make sure the kids have a college fund and we have our retirement taken care of. As for me~ I live in the now and it's great that he balances me out. He has accomplished a lot in the past 35 years. From his career at Disney to being a married man with 2 boys (so far!) and has been racing for the past few years in the SCCA~ I would say it's been a great ride and I'm looking forward to a long journey with him. I am so thankful for the life he has given me~ our boys~the beautiful state we live in~ our dream house~ our dreams...Happy Birthday Matthew! I love you today, tomorrow and always!

My Landon
I have been looking through pictures of when Landon was Adam's age. Seems like forever ago. I can't believe how big and tall he is now. He has such a strong personality. He is such a sweet boy, but- holy cow can he give you some looks when he's not so sweet! That's my fault- he got that from me- and I guess Matthew too! I love having conversations with him. He tells me what he did today and who was "naughty"- very funny! I can't belive how much he remembers and what he retains- he got that from Matthew~hands down! I'm just so proud of him...he is such a polite boy and loves meeting new friends. He goes up to everyone and says "Hi- I'm Landon...How you doing?" (Think 'Friends') I just laugh! He just makes me smile. Here's a picture of us when Landon was about a month old and one about the same age Adam is now- he's quite the little man now!

The Food Battle Continues....
Our Landon is such a picky eater. He would live on milk if we let him (and of course desserts). He does well with chicken, meat, applesauce, yogurt, pb & j, and Lightning McQueen Campbell's soup. He's been doing a lot better and finishing most if not all of his meals in the last few weeks. Even eating spaghetti and meatballs and mac n cheese. What kid doesn't like mac n cheese? I've tried a few tricks to get him to eat- using cookie cutters for his pb& j's- that sort of thing. Today was a battle. He ate all his lunch and wanted yogurt too- great! Well- it was different yogurt today. I had a coupon for something other than his Dora yougurt and it was another kid's brand and figured it's all the same- right? Heck no! He just looked at it and decided it was "icky". We just wanted him to try just 1 little bite and if he didn't like it we wouldn't force the issue and that would be that. Well- after sitting at the table for an hour and bribing him with everything from Grandma will come over and giving him dessert- no dice. He just sat there and cried. I felt so bad but he really needs to try new things- just a little bite! So- he went to bed without his blanket and an unhappy heart. I hate seeing him sad- but he won't eat any fruit except bananas and applesauce and he won't touch a vegetable. Anyone have any tricks they would like to share? Now I'm worried when we introduce fruits to Adam it will be all over and the veggies will be out the window. Landon loved veggies as a baby- once he got teeth- that was over. He is so stubborn- I wonder where he gets it?!?

Farewell to Patrick!
Well........Matthew's cat Patrick has used up the last of his 9 lives. After his 10 mile trek across the Air Force Academy, over the freeway, and into a neighborhood far, far away Patrick has met his demise. We had our little runaway back for a few weeks and let him out again. He was a totally different cat- something really freaked him out during his adventure. He was a very bad kitty fighting with the other cats and marked his territory on the couch downstairs "Bad Kitty!" He scratched my wood counter tops and was using the couch upstairs as a scratching post. We were happy to escort him outside. He stayed around a while- got stuck on the roof a few times and Matthew "rescued" him like a firefighter champ that he is. He realized how to get down when we wouldn't get him down one night- a rainy night no less. Back to the demise part...I was taking a bath with the boys when Matthew heard some "kitty screams" outside our bedroom- a silent killer had a very fuzzy dinner. We're pretty sure our bear was the culprit. He had broke into the trashcan (it was trash day)and had dessert. It was so funny- we told Landon that Patrick was in heaven with Jesus and he said "Yeah- with the Veggie Tales too!" he's such a clown! Now it's Monty's turn. It's funny to watch him "stalk" the bear- he's just that stupid. We don't mean to come off as cold-hearted, but between Patrick trying to destroy the house and Monty's "special kitty food" (he has bladder issues and needs $50 special food a month!) We're just fine with being a no-pet household. Spunkers is so old and crotchity- he just hangs out and doesn't cause problems- we won't sacrafice him to the bears!
Broke down and started a blog!
I started this blog to keep family and friends updated on the latest with the Wolfe Family. I email our pictures from our website http://www.wolfepackpictures.shutterfly.com/ and include a brief summary of where we were and what we did- but this seems like a better way to share the little (and big) things happening in our lives. I'm so proud of my family and want to keep everyone up to date.
As I'm writing this- Landon, Adam and I are piled in our bed watching Spongebob and Adam is lying next to me smiling and cooing like crazy. He just lights up the whole house. Matthew and I watched him in his cradle last night just giving us the biggest smiles- we didn't want to go to sleep and miss it. He's just dying to talk. He opens his mouth and makes the cutest sounds. He's getting so big- I had a newborn for about a week- and that was that! Landon stayed my little guy for a while- not this one! He's trying to keep up with his big brother already! Landon is such a great big brother. We were a little worried he would have a hard time with one day it was the 3 of us- and the next day we have 4. It's been a pretty smooth transition though. Landon helps so much and really takes great care of Adam. He says he won't share his Thomas trains...I think we will have a huge issue when Adam is old enough to want to play with his brother's things. Matthew and I joke that Adam is such a bruiser that he won't have any trouble getting Landon to share. We will have to have lots of patience and practice regarding sharing in this house- I can just see it now! We're going to have a lot of fun with the boys- we look forward to the future- but are cherishing every moment along the way. I'm feeling overwhelmingly blessed. My boys are amazing and my husband is just wonderful. We have been married for almost 4 years now- and the time has flown by. Landon arrived so quickly, we moved out of state shortly therafter and it has been go-go-go ever since. I fall more in love with Matthew everyday. He is a fantastic father and husband and I am just so exited to be a part of this family.
