The Food Battle Continues....

Our Landon is such a picky eater.  He would live on milk if we let him (and of course desserts).  He does well with chicken, meat, applesauce, yogurt, pb & j, and Lightning McQueen Campbell's soup.  He's been doing a lot better and finishing most if not all of his meals in the last few weeks.  Even eating spaghetti and meatballs and mac n cheese.  What kid doesn't like mac n cheese?  I've tried a few tricks to get him to eat- using cookie cutters for his pb& j's- that sort of thing.  Today was a battle.  He ate all his lunch and wanted yogurt too- great!  Well- it was different yogurt today.  I had a coupon for something other than his Dora yougurt and it was another kid's brand and figured it's all the same- right?  Heck no!  He just looked at it and decided it was "icky".  We just wanted him to try just 1 little bite and if he didn't like it we wouldn't force the issue and that would be that.  Well- after sitting at the table for an hour and bribing him with everything from Grandma will come over and giving him dessert- no dice.  He just sat there and cried.  I felt so bad but he really needs to try new things- just a little bite!  So- he went to bed without his blanket and an unhappy heart.  I hate seeing him sad- but he won't eat any fruit except bananas and applesauce and he won't touch a vegetable.  Anyone have any tricks they would like to share?  Now I'm worried when we introduce fruits to Adam it will be all over and the veggies will be out the window.  Landon loved veggies as a baby- once he got teeth- that was over.  He is so stubborn- I wonder where he gets  it?!?

Farewell to Patrick!

Well........Matthew's cat Patrick has used up the last of his 9 lives. After his 10 mile trek across the Air Force Academy, over the freeway, and into a neighborhood far, far away Patrick has met his demise. We had our little runaway back for a few weeks and let him out again. He was a totally different cat- something really freaked him out during his adventure. He was a very bad kitty fighting with the other cats and marked his territory on the couch downstairs "Bad Kitty!" He scratched my wood counter tops and was using the couch upstairs as a scratching post. We were happy to escort him outside. He stayed around a while- got stuck on the roof a few times and Matthew "rescued" him like a firefighter champ that he is. He realized how to get down when we wouldn't get him down one night- a rainy night no less. Back to the demise part...I was taking a bath with the boys when Matthew heard some "kitty screams" outside our bedroom- a silent killer had a very fuzzy dinner. We're pretty sure our bear was the culprit. He had broke into the trashcan (it was trash day)and had dessert. It was so funny- we told Landon that Patrick was in heaven with Jesus and he said "Yeah- with the Veggie Tales too!" he's such a clown! Now it's Monty's turn. It's funny to watch him "stalk" the bear- he's just that stupid. We don't mean to come off as cold-hearted, but between Patrick trying to destroy the house and Monty's "special kitty food" (he has bladder issues and needs $50 special food a month!) We're just fine with being a no-pet household. Spunkers is so old and crotchity- he just hangs out and doesn't cause problems- we won't sacrafice him to the bears!

Broke down and started a blog!

I started this blog to keep family and friends updated on the latest with the Wolfe Family. I email our pictures from our website http://www.wolfepackpictures.shutterfly.com/ and include a brief summary of where we were and what we did- but this seems like a better way to share the little (and big) things happening in our lives. I'm so proud of my family and want to keep everyone up to date.
As I'm writing this- Landon, Adam and I are piled in our bed watching Spongebob and Adam is lying next to me smiling and cooing like crazy. He just lights up the whole house. Matthew and I watched him in his cradle last night just giving us the biggest smiles- we didn't want to go to sleep and miss it. He's just dying to talk. He opens his mouth and makes the cutest sounds. He's getting so big- I had a newborn for about a week- and that was that! Landon stayed my little guy for a while- not this one! He's trying to keep up with his big brother already! Landon is such a great big brother. We were a little worried he would have a hard time with one day it was the 3 of us- and the next day we have 4. It's been a pretty smooth transition though. Landon helps so much and really takes great care of Adam. He says he won't share his Thomas trains...I think we will have a huge issue when Adam is old enough to want to play with his brother's things. Matthew and I joke that Adam is such a bruiser that he won't have any trouble getting Landon to share. We will have to have lots of patience and practice regarding sharing in this house- I can just see it now! We're going to have a lot of fun with the boys- we look forward to the future- but are cherishing every moment along the way. I'm feeling overwhelmingly blessed. My boys are amazing and my husband is just wonderful. We have been married for almost 4 years now- and the time has flown by. Landon arrived so quickly, we moved out of state shortly therafter and it has been go-go-go ever since. I fall more in love with Matthew everyday. He is a fantastic father and husband and I am just so exited to be a part of this family.
